Come and join the PTA!
Earlier this week we held a special PTA meeting to discuss the future of the PTA and how we can work with parents to make sure our pupils and families are really benefitting from the events and activities the PTA arranges. We had a few new parent members who shared some great ideas and those who have already been active members were excited to welcome new people and discuss suggestions together.
The 'new' PTA is a really welcoming, inclusive group of parents and staff and we would love to have even more parents involved. Whether you have great ideas, have specific skills which you think might be useful, want to take on organising event or can offer an hour to run a stall or make items to sell - everyone's contributions count.
We will be out on the playground after school today, with forms for parents to fill in if they would like to join the PTA. Joining doesn't mean you have to commit hours and hours of your time - the level at which you participate is entirely up to you! When I was on the PTA for my son's primary school I was a full time working single mum, so my spare time was very limited! I was still able to contribute though by making hot chocolate reindeer for the Christmas Fayre, running a stall for an hour at the Summer Fayre and taking home some uniform to sell on the pre-loved uniform stall. If you don't have a lot of time don't let it put you off - any help you can give would be greatly appreciated 😊
