Our Year 3 and 4 pupils went to the 'Living Land Day' at the Kent Showground yesterday. Today we received this lovely email from the Director of Cookies Kitchen Ltd who was running one of the activities. I am so proud of our children and staff 😊
Yesterday I had a stand at the Living Land Day at the Kent Showground, I was doing butter making in the touch and taste zone.
I have been a part of this event for years but this is the first time that I have felt compelled to get in touch with a school after the event. I met lots of your pupils towards the end of the day and I wanted to say what an absolute pleasure they were, they were so engaged and so excited to tell me that they have made butter at school before. They remembered everything they had learned in school so we had great conversations, swapping notes on our butter making knowledge.
All of the children that I met from your school were incredibly polite, confident and a fantastic representation of the school.
It was also awesome to hear how the school is so passionate about helping children to understand what real food is and where it comes from. This is the sort of thing I teach in my classes and workshops daily and it was great to hear of a school sharing my passion.
Finally, your staff/volunteers from the school were also a credit to you, they were as engaged as the children were which makes such a difference. The fact that they were so connected with the children meant that we could have some great fun and chats which I just don’t get from all of the schools.
I hope that your children had a fantastic day yesterday, please tell them, thank you for making me smile!
