Dear Parents and Carers,
Following the publication of the independent SAGE report, the Local Governing Body and I have made the decision to delay opening the school to some children (N, R, Y1 and Y6) until at least the 15th June. We will reassess in the week prior to 15th June. The report states: ‘delaying a school re-opening by two weeks (to 15th June) approximately halves the risk to children…’ In reaching such a decision, we considered factors such as the local transmission rate; test, track and trace programme not yet being in place; decisions made by other local authorities to delay; the opinions of the BMA; delays in securing PPE.
At this time, in order to be able to fully assess the risk and to enable us to keep our pupils and staff safe we must delay opening.
All the schools in The Pathway Academy Trust have made this decision with their Local Governing Bodies and the support of the Trust Board.
From 1st June, the provision for key workers and vulnerable children only will continue. The rest of the school will be closed.
Thank you for your continued support,
Sarah Jack
