Real Life Maths Day Today - 24th May

 What an amazing day!

Happy Real Life Maths Day! We have enjoyed learning about how we use Maths in our everyday lives. We played 'who wants to be a millionaire' and answered real life questions. In 5S we have very competitive mathematicians.

Staff dominoes!

6M have had a fun-filled morning doing all things Maths! First, they became Human BarCharts to show us their birthdays, ages, and favourite colours. They continued by using a range of sports equipment to calculate how many children we could fit in the hall! We played, “Guess the Views” for a range of songs and also played hide the Dienes cube in the classroom! Children then spent time on their secondary school’s website to look at their menus for their canteens. They calculated how much they would spend and how much they they could save based on their pocket money!

Mr Smith checking the students are sat up straight with his spirit level!

This afternoon 6M turned the classroom into their very own cafe. They became Chefs,  Customers, Waiting Staff, Cashiers, Menu Specialists and Managers. They had a blast working under the pressure of taking orders and meeting customer expectations. They also did well to work out change, total bills and how much profit was made.

Year 3 did agamographs bridge making where the children had to buy their equipment and budget how much they could spend.

TPAT Basketball Competition

The Wrotham Road pupils have continued to show our school spirit, within our excellent Year 5 and 6 children, who attended a TPAT basketball competition yesterday. It came down to the wire for our Wrotham 1 team who were called for the 3rd and 4th place decider match. The children came into the round with such determination, which was followed through with accurate throws and team work, to win a landslide score against the first of Meopham's teams, securing the bronze place trophy for the school.
Well done!
