Making Potions in Year 6

Year 6 spent the afternoon making potions, as if they were in a class at Hogwarts. We began by identifying all the magical and strange ingredients and then combining them to create the potions. The children thoroughly enjoyed acting as if they were witches and wizards. Professor Karim, Professor Gardner and Professor Smith are also pleased to announce all pupils graduated the potion making class with their own certificate of witchcraft and wizardry.

PJ day in Year 5

In Year 5, we have been reading Alex Rider - Stormbreaker. Today was our chance to create our own Alex Rider front cover based on a given blurb:

'Contract killer Yassen Gregorovich has been given his orders: KILL ALEX RIDER. As Yassen considers his mission, he remembers a secret from the past that connects him to the fourteen year old spy.
What is it that makes one of them choose to do evil?
What does it take to make a killer?'

We had to think about our characters, the atmosphere we wanted to create, the clues we wanted to give away and how the fonts and colours of the front page impact our readers.

PJ Day in Year 1

Today we discussed the importance of bedtime stories, designed our own pyjamas and incorporated story writing in our English!

PJ Day!

Year 6 spent the morning sitting comfortably, reading books together. We then went on to relax and listen to Audio Books. We made a comparison between two texts to help us come up with ideas for our writing this week.

Please ensure your child comes to school wearing their school uniform.

IPC in Year 4

Last week Year 4 applied their learning on forces to create marble runs using recycled materials.  We worked together in teams to design and build our marble runs, and then had great fun testing out our creations with the marbles!
