COVID Positive - Reminder to parents

From Monday 17 January, pupils who are positive with COVID-19 will have the option to reduce their isolation period after 5 full days if they test negative with a lateral flow device (LFD) test on both day 5 and day 6 and they do not have a temperature.

For example, if you test negative on the morning of day 5 and the morning of day 6, they your child can return to school on day 6.

The first test must be taken no earlier than day 5 of the self-isolation period, and the second must be taken the following day. All test results should be reported to NHS Test and Trace. Contact tracing is triggered once a positive LFD test is reported.

If the result of either of their tests is positive, they should continue to self-isolate until they get negative results from two LFD tests on consecutive days or until they have completed 10 full days of self-isolation, whichever is earliest.

Daily testing for close contacts of COVID-19
People who are fully vaccinated, or children and young people aged between 5 and 18 years and 6 months, identified as a close contact of someone with COVID-19, should take an LFD test every day for seven days and continue to attend their setting as normal, unless they have a positive test result or develop symptoms at any time.

Chinese New Year - Special Menu on Tuesday 1st February

Year 6 Maths

Yesterday, Y6 were set with the task of finding the volume of the classroom! We discussed what would be an appropriate unit of measure, cm or m? After deciding that a ruler would take us a lot longer time - we opted for metre sticks! We used the metre sticks to find the length, height and width. We then multiplied all of the numbers together using a range of methods in our books.

Year 4 Parents

In June 2022, Year 4 pupils will take part in the national Multiplication Tables Check.

The purpose of the MTC is to determine whether pupils can recall their times tables fluently, which is essential for future success in mathematics. It will help schools to identify pupils who have not yet mastered their times tables, so that additional support can be provided.

This check will be online, in the style of a multiplication tables game and will involve 25 questions up to 12x12.

Please encourage your children to use Times Table Rock Stars (https://play.ttrockstars.com/auth/school/student/34384Soundcheck Game, or use the Purple Mash Multiplication Tables Check game to help improve their fluency and speed.

Tuesday 25 January 2022

This week we are struggling with an increased amount of staff illness and COVID cases. We are incredibly fortunate that we have an amazing school team who really pull together in tricky times such as these, but on some days we are spread quite thin on the ground, as we endeavour to keep going with all of the lovely things we have planned for the children. You may also find a different face at the door when you drop off and collect.Fingers crossed things improve over the next week. If your child has any COVID symptoms, please test them before coming to school.

Thank you

Year 5- "Champions for Change"

For Year 5’s ‘Champions for Change’ topic a key part is to learn about voting and the history behind it. A key aspect being the right for women to vote. The children were working with a London actor to bring to life the topic of the suffragettes. They were involved in various activities, the most exciting being the rally. All the children dressed up and looked incredible.
